Intelligence Corps
Find out who the British Army's Intelligence Corps (Int Corps) are, and what they do.
Problem solving, pattern recognition, prediction, insight.
The Intelligence Corps lead the way when it comes to information gathering and intelligence analysis, helping to ensure that the Army's operations are successful.
Whether you’re in an armoured vehicle tracking a fast passed battle, briefing a Special Forces commander on a compound that they’re about to raid, or working alongside civilian organisations in the aftermath of a hurricane, you will be working closely with others to understand what’s going on and advising commanders.
There are number of ways of collecting information:
Satellites, drones, and people on the ground can all provide us with imagery
Civilians and informants can pass on critical insights
Forensic interrogation of captured enemy documents, laptops, and phones can all provide vital evidence
But regardless of how we collect intelligence, it’s the layering of it together and figuring out what that means for a commander where the Intelligence Corps excels.
What this means is that our people are our capability. It is our expertise in collection, processing, and delivery that gives us our edge over our adversaries. That means that we put our people, their development, and their welfare first, as without them we have no capability.
My role involves listening to intercepted enemy communications.
