British Army operations can take you across the world on a variety of missions. This is what's known as "deployment." How often you get deployed and for how long depends on the type of work that you do and what the operation needs. Most deployments are done with a small group of soldiers and can last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Operations can range from peacekeeping missions to disaster relief to training exercises. And if you have a family, they'll get regular support and information while you're away.
