Charlotte joined the Army when she was 18 and had just left school. 15 years later, she looks back on her career and the opportunities she has had along the way.

Working as a HR Specialist, her job is all about helping people. She supports soldiers and staff with pay, paperwork and advice when they need it most.

“A normal day usually starts in the office, helping soldiers with anything that comes up.”

Career highlights so far

During her time in the Army, Charlotte has:

  • Served on four overseas deployments, including Estonia, Iraq and the United States

  • Worked with 11 different Army units, learning new skills in every role

  • Become a Staff Sergeant by the age of 31

  • Received four commendations from senior Army leaders for all her hard work

  • Tried exciting adventure sports like skydiving, scuba diving and skiing in the Alps

For Charlotte, the Army offers opportunities she knows she wouldn’t have found anywhere else.
