Royal Logistic Corps Officers command soldiers providing essential support in war, disaster relief or peacetime. During deployment, sustainment and recovery; you’ll keep the Army moving.
As an officer in the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) you will command a team of up to 80 soldiers undertaking a variety of crucial roles at home and abroad. The RLC is represented in every theatre of operations and in every military unit, supporting the Army in everything it does. Specialising in anything from port operations to bomb disposal, the work that you and your soldiers do will underpin every operation. You'll become an expert in leadership and management, and gain valuable qualifications that will make you highly sought after if you return to civilian life.
The Royal Logistic Corps are the Army’s professional logisticians keeping the Field Army marching, its helicopters flying, its vehicles moving and its tanks and guns firing. We enable its deployment and supply it with everything it needs, wherever it operates, throughout the world.

Command a troop of highly motivated Royal Logistic Corps soldiers in a huge variety of roles.
Deploy on operations and exercises, providing essential support to the Army.

Reserve (part time)
Entry requirements
Age:
From 17 years & 9 months to 48 years & 11 months
Qualifications:
Qualifications: 72 UCAS Points from at least 2 A-level passes (or equivalent). 35 ALIS points at GCSE (34 for SCEs) from 7 GCSE/SCE subjects (including Grade C/4 in English, Maths and a science or a foreign language).
Basic physical fitness assessment:
Mid Thigh Pull 76kg
Medicine Ball Throw 3.1m
MSFT (beep test) level 8.07
Training for the role
Step 1
You’ll need to pass the Army Reserve Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. You can complete this in modules or in one go – depending on your circumstances.
Step 2
Then, you have the Royal Logistic Corps Troop Commander's Course to prepare you for your first role in charge of an RLC Troop with soldiers from one or more of our sixteen trades. Remember that all Army Reserve training is designed to fit in around your life and day job.

Pay & benefits
You'll get paid a day rate according to your rank, starting from ÂŁ83.31 per day once you have passed Army Officer Selection and rising to ÂŁ99.60 per day once you've commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. This includes being paid for weekly drill nights. Plus, if you complete all of your annual training, you're entitled to a tax-free lump sum called a bounty.

To join, you have to apply online. The application process will take some time, but you can also ring the unit you're interested in joining - the team there will help often invite you to join them for drill nights, and you'll get support for your application.
