As an officer in the Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) you will command a team of up to 80 soldiers undertaking a variety of crucial roles at home and abroad. The RLC is represented in every theatre of operations and in every military unit, supporting the Army in everything it does. Specialising in anything from port operations to bomb disposal, the work that you and your soldiers do will underpin every operation. You'll become an expert in leadership and management, and gain valuable qualifications that will make you highly sought after if you return to civilian life.
Key Responsibilities
Command a troop of highly motivated Royal Logistic Corps soldiers in a huge variety of roles.
Deploy on operations and exercises, providing essential support to the Army.
Enjoy a constantly varied and rewarding career, including support to humanitarian relief operations and military deployments.
Become a logistics generalist or specialise as an Ammunition Technical Officer, Petroleum Operator, Port and Maritime Operations Officer or Contracts Officer.

Step 1
You’ll start your career on the 44-week Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. This is for all officer cadets, regardless of the Corps that they’re hoping to join.
Step 2
Next it’s the 19-week Royal Logistic Corps Troop Commander's Course, where you will learn about military logistics at the Defence School of Logistics, Policing and Administration. This prepares you for your first posting as a Royal Logistic Corps Troop Commander, where you could deploy as a Battle Groups’ only RLC officer, providing fuel, supply, ammunition, movements and distribution expertise. Apply your operational decision making or strategic planning skills and later you could choose to specialise as an Ammunition Technical Officer; Petroleum Operator; Port and Maritime Officer or Contracts Officer.
You'll earn ÂŁ34,676 during your year of training at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, before commissioning and becoming a Second Lieutenant, on ÂŁ41,456 a year.
