Education

72 UCAS Points from at least two A-level, or Scottish Higher, passes.
35 ALIS points at GCSE (34 for SCEs) from seven GCSE/SCE subjects (including Grade C/4, Scottish National C, in English, Maths and a science or a foreign language).
A Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in any subject.

About the Role

The ETS’s three main roles are the delivery of military education, the design of military training, and developing the cultural and linguistic requirements of the Army. Officers teach Soldiers in the UK as well as educating troops from allied forces. They ensure the development of Soldiers throughout their career and ensure the British Army’s reputation for training remains world-leading.

Training

Step 1
You begin with Officer training by enrolling on the Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which lasts 44 weeks. You learn what’s expected of a British Army Officer and how to lead Soldiers on and off the battlefield.

Step 2
Upon completion of the Commissioning Course you will attend the ETS Branch Training course at Worthy Down near Winchester. During this course you begin the PGCE programme, which is the first step towards gaining an MSc. During this course you will develop the skills required to deliver education and training to Soldiers, both at home and deployed. You will also continue to develop leadership skills and fitness.
