Inclusion & Values

The British Army must lead by example and its values and standards define our culture, how we treat one another and serve our nation; with trust and mutual respect and the courage to stand up for what is right and just.

By creating a culture that values diversity, equity and inclusion along with a strong Leadership Code, the Army can create successful teams with strong bonds providing an unparalleled sense of belonging.

Working together

FIND WHERE YOU BELONG

We believe in diversity, equality and inclusion - whatever your background, race, gender or religion. We have pride in the diversity we offer and believe everyone has the right to be treated fairly.

That's what belonging means. It means whoever you are, wherever you're from and whatever defines you - you can expect respect, resources and opportunities to progress to your full potential

As an inclusive employer, the Army has a strong network of diversity champions and employee support networks to ensure an inclusive environment for all of our military staff.

From Basic Training, all soldiers learn new skills. Take on challenges. Build bonds that last a lifetime. And no one will ever stop you from building a career you can be proud of.

Values & standards

The Army's values and standards are designed to ensure that all behaviour is lawful, appropriate and totally professional. Low standards damage the team, which could lead to failure on operations.
